Russian is the divertissement in Nutcracker that is the most widely interpreted from company to company. This includes everything from Russian dolls to Cossack dancers to candy canes. Because there is such a diverse range of costumes, I decided to go with a look inspired by the Russian flag. The gray represents the white, the pink represents the red, and then I finished it with blue. While colors are not in the exact order of the flag, this is the way to make it work for stage makeup.

Step By Step
1. Apply a candy pink shadow to the lid, and contour with a copper pink.
2. As usual, with your black liner, draw a thick line along the lashes that extends slightly upward at the end.
3. Now, using a gray liner, draw a line following the crease of the eye, and connect it to the end of the bottom one.
4. Taking a silvery gray shadow, go over the line you just made, blending it out to ensure the line is not harsh.
5. Using a bright blue violet liner, line the lower lashline, finishing right up under the black line.
6. Using a blue violet shadow, soften the bottom line.
7. Curl lashes and apply your favorite mascara.
8. Finish the look with false lashes!
For Russian, I would recommend a pink blush and rose or berry colored lipstick.
